​Cynthia Dorsey is an oil painter based in Massachusetts. She originally trained at Wesleyan University where she earned a BA in studio art, and then chose to pursue a PhD in psychology. Her work explores light, color and emotion in natural landscape settings, still lifes and genre paintings. She uses layered glazes, textures and soft color palettes with a sensitivity to subtle value shifts to convey beauty and power in nature, as well as directional movement to express narratives in genre paintings. Her work has been exhibited at recent  juried fine arts fairs and shows.
