Cynthia Dorsey grew up in New York and has been a resident of Massachusetts for many years. She is a trained painter with a BA in studio art from Wesleyan University and a PhD in psychology from Northwestern University. She does plein air painting and also works out of her studio in Boxborough MA, using mainly oils to capture New England landscape views on canvas.  Sources of inspiration include the many beautiful New England nature scenes in the surrounding area, the works of European and American Impressionist painters, as well as older buildings sometimes found nestled in local nature settings.
