Cynthia Dorsey is an oil painter based in Massachusetts. She originally trained as an artist with a BA in studio art, then chose to pursue a PhD in psychology. She had a 30-year career as a psychologist doing research and clinical work in the field of sleep disorders. She returned to painting in recent years. Her work explores light, color and emotion in natural landscape settings. She uses layered glazes, textures and soft color palettes with a sensitivity to subtle value shifts to convey the beauty and power of nature. Her work has been exhibited recently at several juried fine arts fairs and shows.
